Comment and post replies

The reply tool drafts a comment from the post plus the comments rendered on your screen, combined with your business brief, your voice and the style and length you picked. The prompt is assembled in a fixed order — structure, then length, then the style definition, then your toggles, then your voice last — which is why your voice wins wherever it conflicts with anything else.

Prefer the long version? How to reply to comments without leaving the page walks through it in depth.

What it reads

ReadNot read
The post you are replying underAnything below the fold
The comments rendered on screenReplies collapsed behind "view more"
Your business briefOther pages or tabs
Your voice and rulesYour message history with that person
The style and length you choseYour diary, stock or availability

It reads at the moment you press the button, and only then. It does not scroll, expand or fetch.

How the prompt is layered

The order is fixed, and it is the reason certain settings beat others:

  1. Structure — reply to the post, platform norms, output shape.
  2. Length — your default, or the per-reply override.
  3. The style definition — what "friendly" or "professional" means on this installation.
  4. Your toggles — Match the room, and whether to mention your website.
  5. Your voice — last.

Two consequences worth knowing. Your voice wins on conflict, because it is applied last. And a custom instruction never replaces the scaffold — it is added to it, so the reply stays a reply and platform norms still apply.

Your business brief is attached separately as reference material, with a standing instruction to use those facts only where they genuinely answer the post, and never to state anything they do not cover.

The controls

Style sets the register for this reply: professional, friendly, helpful, informative, educational, or a custom one. See Styles and length.

Length is short, medium or long, either as a standing default or a per-reply override.

Match the room mirrors the tone of the top comments so your reply does not read like an outsider. Useful when a community is markedly more casual or more technical than your usual register.

Mention my website softly works your site into replies where a reader is plainly looking for a provider. Leave it off for general commenting — in most groups an unprompted link is what gets a comment removed.

Refining instead of regenerating

If a draft is close but not right, refine it — give a short instruction describing the change and it adjusts the draft you already have, rather than starting again. That keeps the parts you liked.

Regenerating from scratch is the right move when the draft took the wrong angle entirely.

Where it works

Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Reddit and Gmail. See Supported platforms.

Limits

  • It never posts. The draft goes into the composer; you send it.
  • It cannot see what is not on screen. Scroll first.
  • It does not know unwritten facts — capacity, stock, what you agreed last month.
  • Each generation costs credits. See Credits and usage.
  • The specific detail is yours. It has your context, not your experience.

The most common cause of a disappointing reply is not the style chip. It is an empty business context — the setting that decides whether there is anything worth saying.
